Opportunities

This consortium is designed to support interdisciplinary work within projects while also engaging the broader community of scholars investigating the themes that characterize it.

With a focus on increasing conceptual and scientific rigor, opportunities hosted by the consortium are open to all CASP members and will include avenues for collaboration, professional development, writing fellowships, manuscript reviews, publicity videos and more.

Open access funding
Type: Open Access publication support

The consortium has funds dedicated to helping teams publish their work open access.

We budgeted for one open access publication per team per year, so please let us know via this form when you are nearing the payment stage of your publication process.

Public engagement event
Type: Networking and professional development

These events bring together academics with government and business leaders as well as others over dinner to discuss big questions about CASP themes of interest to a wider audience, emphasizing respectful dialogue across divergent perspectives rather than seeking consensus.

The events will be held locally to those hosting, though the central CASP team takes responsibility for organizing the details, and are an opportunity to showcase your team’s work by engaging with themes around your research.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please fill out this brief request form. Alan will be in touch to discuss your idea in more detail.

Research videos
Type: Research video profiles

One of the benefits of belonging to the consortium is access to publicity resources to help raise the profile of your team's work.

We are doing that in a number of ways, including working with digital production companies on research video profiles. Similar to a presentation at a conference, a research video explains your work, discusses challenges and findings and highlights conclusions and next steps. What is unlike presenting at a conference, however, is the ability to reach many more people by simply having the profile online and shareable (including via CASP social media channels).

Additionally, the video format helps create a narrative around your work and provides people from a wide variety of backgrounds a means of accessing information they may not otherwise come across. Please use this form to express your interest in disseminating your work this way.
