Cohort Program Organization

The cohort program exhibits a novel, interdisciplinary, large-scale organization that combines philosophers, theoreticians, and experimentalists. Seven thematic clusters are composed of multiple distinct research groups from around the world, led by subaward principal investigators, working with a cluster coordinator to undertake collaborative activities that include within-team investigative tasks (e.g., conceptual analysis, formal modeling, and experimental inquiry), within-cluster workshops and quarterly briefings, and across-project conferences with strategic writing enterprises and outside commentators. A scientific board of advisors provides evaluative input on research trajectories and outcomes. All activities are under the aegis of the principal investigator, working together with a dedicated postdoctoral researcher and staff team at the University of Minnesota.
